What to expect once you have booked an appointment

After you’ve booked your appointment for packages 1, 2 and the 1.5 hour virtual consultation, you will receive an email with an attached Intake Form for you to fill out and return by email. Filling in what you’re comfortable answering, and returning the form as soon as possible will help guide the consultation. The confidential information you supply will be stored safely on an encrypted hard drive. The summary and ideas/plan made with you during the consultation will be emailed to you, with any additional information/educational tools.

Additionally, you will get an email from Square with The Good Latch Lactation Support Terms and Conditions and a Service Agreement for you to sign, which is your consent to receiving support from Laurinda within the framework of an IBCLC. Please refer to the bottom of this page to see an abstract of the Ts and Cs and Service Agreement.

Lastly, if you have booked a virtual consultation, you will receive an invoice after we have finished up.

Payment Options and Cancellation Policy

EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and cash are all accepted methods of payment at the time of the consultation. Being a home visiting service, The Good Latch has a cancellation policy; a consultation can be cancelled or re-booked with greater than 24 hours notice or in an emergency situation. Please give me a call, or send an email or text so we can change the date and time to suit your needs. However, if a consultation is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, and it isn’t because of an illness or an emergency, a $50 cancellation fee will be applied.

COVID/Illness Considerations

If you suddenly find yourself or a family member are unwell please let me know. We can organise/transfer to a virtual consultation instead. Or, rebook to a different more suitable time. I am quite flexible and will not charge cancellation fees in this instance. We are living in unpredictable circumstances at the moment.

Abstract of Terms and Conditions and Service Agreement

The Services supplied by Laurinda Knudsen from The Good Latch Lactation Support are in accordance to the Clinical Competencies for IBCLCs; follow the Code of Professional Conduct for IBCLCs, and are within the framework of the Scope of Practice for IBCLCs. Laurinda supports clients from an IBCLC role, and not as a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife. Laurinda often performs assessments (only with consent), assessments allow for optimal plans. Laurinda assesses infant tongue function in the context of breastfeeding using clinical skill, and the Bristol Tongue Assessment Tool (BTAT) or occasionally the Hazelbaker Assessment Tool for Lingual Frenulum Function (HATLLF). If there is suspicion of tongue function concern, best practice referral options will be discussed with families for ongoing care and support. Laurinda will keep in touch with you via email, phone calls and text messages; accepting this service agreement acknowledges this.
